  • What kind of a city is Melbourne?

  • How does technology help the architecture in the expansion of the Melbourne Museum?

  • Planning, execution, and operation of museums; architects in collaboration with all.

Whether renovation, expansion, new development, or conversion of other buildings to museums, the execution of a museum is a new prototype compared to what it was in the last century. Technology makes the key difference. Tabe Shouri presents through this project that today’s realm in museums’ architecture sides with “Collaborations” than with “-isms”. It establishes a proliferation of inputs from all parties in designing museums; from the board of advisers and executives to users, from consultants to authorities, and from space requirements to materials constraints. Today’s Museum Execution finds the joy in collaborative design and values in thinking together as precious alternatives for the traditional notion of authorship in architectural design and construction. Today, openness at entries replaces the traditional conservative approaches in admission with security gates and control kiosks. Today, Museums are executed to welcome people. Today, Building Information Modeling (BIM) is used to create live composite models in design to be used in the construction and maintenance of museum buildings bringing mistakes, change orders, time and budget revisions, errors, and omissions close to zero. Net Zero Carbon Emission is considered in the design, construction, and operation of museums. AI applies the above principles and more in the “Deep Learnings” process in rethinking The Melbourne Museum and sets parameters to be explored in museums of the other cities.

Speaker: Amir Shouri, Founding Partner - Tabe Shouri

9:30 AM (AEDT) / 9:00 AM (ACDT) / 6:30 AM (AWST) - PANEL DISCUSSION: Winning Approach - Inclusion & Diversity in Construction

Over the past decade, organisations have increasingly recognised that if they wish to experience the benefits of diversity and inclusion, they need to cultivate not just a diverse workplace but importantly an inclusive one. Adding to that, it’s no longer enough for companies to make vague PR statements — our clients and stakeholders favour organisations that take real steps to promote diversity over their homogenous counterparts.

At today’s discussion our esteemed panel will share their insights, and initiatives on how to develop a Winning Approach to incorporate Inclusion and Diversity in the Construction Industry.

Amy Williams, Business Development Manager - ADCO Constructions
