AMIR SHOURI

Founding Partner Tabe Shouri

Amir Shouri is an architect, author, and activist who outside his work holds a seat in the leadership council at National Small Business Association in the US. Born and raised in Iran, he traveled to Australia to continue his education in architecture and improved his carrier working in large-scale construction projects in Melbourne.

On his arrival to New York City in 2012, he collaborated with Prof. Kenneth Frampton at Columbia University on Ken’s book “A Genealogy of Modern Architecture: Comparative Critical Analysis of Built Form”. He also collaborated with world renowned offices in architecture such as OMA of New York. In partnership with Fereshteh Tabe, he established Tabe Shouri, an architecture practice in New York City. As a founding partner, Amir has focused on the architectural thinking process to improve the quality of architectural space. For both partners at Tabe Shouri, Architecture is an Artistic Science for a Thinking in Process of Making a Space. Amir believes that today’s Architecture finds the joy in using technology and collaborative design with values in thinking together as precious alternatives for the traditional notion of authorship in architectural design and construction. His recent works include studying the role of museums in cities, a study through artificial intelligence. Throughout his carrier, Amir’s projects have been recognized by world-renown organizations including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) of New York, the American Architecture Prize, the Mies van der Rohe Foundation of Barcelona, Spain, and La Biennale di Venezia, Italy.
