Carol Leung
Architect
DWP
Carol Leung is an Architect at dwp | design worldwide partnership with a keen eye for design detail and a passion for BIM and technology. Drawing from over 10 years experience in the building and construction industry, beginning as a labourer, moving into space management and now an architect / interior designer / a lover of BIM, Carol’s approach to design and construction is a little diverse but strongly focused on turning a concept into reality.
With projects spanning across commercial workplace, hospitality, mixed-use residential and education sectors, exploring the means of engaging with the ever changing way of ‘how we live, how we work, and how we play’ remains the core foundation of her work. In the past 12 months, Carol’s role as the lead architect and BIM guru for The Star Sydney Western Precinct upgrade included the refurbishment of the Grand Hotel and Residences Lobbies, the Porte Cochere, the Grand Foyer and a brand new lobby bar, G&Tea. More recently, Carol has made a temporary home at dwp|Bangkok collaborating with local teams in Thailand, and teams from Ho Chi Minh City, Dubai and back home in Australia on new hospitality and wellness projects throughout southeast Asia.
In practice, Carol is interested in blurring the lines between architecture, interiors, engineering and building disciplines. She is a strong believer that with close collaboration, we can achieve great design. This has driven her desire to explore the different ways we can work and learn from one another, and how we interact with one-another in the industry. At the end of the day, it’s the people that make the projects a reality.
