Luke Carvell
Associate - BIM Manager BECA
With almost 20 years’ experience, Luke’s career encompasses a wide range of industries and multi-disciplinary projects. These include linear assets such as Road, Rail and Port infrastructure, to vertical assets across heavy industrial and commercial buildings. Luke has project experience in Australia and globally, including smaller innovative digital twins for private sector clients, to large multi-billion dollar government projects like the recent Level Crossing Removal Program. Luke has a real focus on strategic implementation of digital, identifying what the project or client’s operational needs are to inform necessary information management and resources for the delivery phase of the asset. Luke has led the implementation of digital solutions across organizations and in particular how graphical and non-graphical data management including BIM and GIS virtual models are of value but fundamental information sharing governance is at the core of every good digital strategy.
As Beca’s senior BIM lead for Australia, Luke drives the engagement, education, and communication with project supply chain, providing support to successfully appoint parties and apply responsibilities for collaborative working cultures. With an understanding that all individuals and organisations digital experience and capabilities vary, Luke is passionate about providing a management role to support others for successful and scalable solutions and play a role in the digital transformation of the construction industry.
