Sarah Lawlor

Associate fjmtstudio

Sarah Lawlor is an associate at fjmtstudio, working on Gadigal land (Sydney). Sarah works across commercial and education projects, and has experience designing and delivering medium-large scale projects in both the public and private sectors.

Sarah was the 2020 recipient of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) International Women’s Day Scholarship for her project: ‘Is Sustainability Leadership in the Built Environment Women’s Business?’ Her project explored diversity and gender representation of sustainability leadership in the built environment in Australia.

Sarah is the host of the ‘Design Conscious’ podcast, an interview series sharing stories from sustainability leaders paving the way towards a more sustainable construction industry in Australia. She is co-chair of the Australian Institute of Architects NSW Chapter Editorial Committee for the Architecture Bulletin, and also involved in the architecture industry as a university design tutor and mentor.

As a passionate advocate for gender equity and environmental sustainability, Sarah has been recognised as a finalist for the GBCA’s Future Green Leader Award 2021.
