Joseph is a Structural Engineer and Digital Lead in the Arup QLD Buildings team. He has global experience in Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Singapore. He graduated in 2011 from the Queensland University of Technology and completed his degree with first class honours through the Dean’s Scholars Program. In his professional career, he has global design experience in stadia, universities, multi-storey concrete buildings, mass-timber design and bespoke steel structures. 

Joseph consistently looks for opportunities to innovate design workflows to create a better collaborative environment for Consultants, Contractors and Subcontractors. Particularly on the Optus Stadium, he worked collaboratively with the shop detailer in Tekla (3D Detailing Software) and helped lead the innovative 3D shop detailing and model review processes. More recently, he has focused on developing 4D BIM models to assist Contractors and Subcontractors to pre-plan construction and to problem solve complex structural geometry as early as possible in the design process. He has also promoted the use of VR/AR to create an immersive environment to experience structural design and create better engagement across disciplines.
