Derix & Associates
Christian has a 20 years track record of professional and academic R&D at the nexus between AI, data science and spatial planning for cities, place and building.
Christian set up the first global Computational Design group in London for Aedas in 2004 and founded the Woods Bagot design research group SUPERSPACE in 2014. SUPERSPACE researches and develops novel models of spatial systems for citizen and user-centric environments. The team also applies the R&D to projects by designing innovative typologies of spaces.
Christian’s teams have won multiple awards for design and R&D projects across multiple scales and the research is persistently state-of-the-art by producing fundamental research in practice and universities. Derix researched and was professor for 13 years at multiple European universities and published over 40 papers on the subject of ‘people, space and computation’, for which he received a PhD in 2015.
