Carmel Luck is a Community and Stakeholder Relations Manager for CPB in Perth. Her role includes the coordination, engagement and management of community and stakeholders for major infrastructure projects. Carmel combines her 13 years’ experience in service-delivery and client management with her strong skillsets of conflict management, negotiation and collaboration skills with construction knowledge - to effectively safeguard the reputation of clients and constructors throughout project delivery.
She is responsible for embedding stakeholder and community relations into engineering and design processes and proactively informing and consulting with all stakeholders and has worked collaboratively with numerous local government authorities on a range of initiatives to achieve positive legacy outcomes.
Recently, Carmel’s leadership on the NorthLink Stage 2 Project, saw the project achieve an overall ‘Excellent’ rating on the Design submission for the stakeholder management and community wellbeing categories for the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia’s infrastructure sustainability rating tool, a system aimed to drive and measure sustainability.
Carmel takes the responsibility of her role in the project management team seriously and diligently speaks up for the rights of all staff. She is passionate about contributing to a world where everyone feels valued and comfortable at work and keenly participates in diversity discussions and initiatives.
Carmel is passionate about the environment, community development and travel. She believes in a balance of work, play and exercise recently walked 110 km over 15 days to Mt Everest Base Camp.
Carmel is a member of the Urban Bushland Council of WA, 100 Women and the Waste Management Community Reference Group Committee with the Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council and regularly participates in Clean Up Australia Day and Tangaroa Blue events.
Whilst dedicated to her work, Carmel believes her ability to perform well and be outstanding in her job is attributable to her other interests and passions.
