Ario Susanto is a Digital Engineering specialist with over 18 years of experience in BIM management, design, and delivery of large-scale complex projects in the transport infrastructure, energy and resources sectors. Trained in Architecture, he is an accredited Professional Architectural Engineer with Engineers Australia.
In the past decade, Ario has specialized on large scale complex major infrastructure projects with BIM design coordination. Starting with PNG LNG EPC4 non-process infrastructure, to most recently working on Perth’s largest infrastructure project, the Forrestfield Airport Link underground tunnel rail line. Along the journey he has worked some of the most iconic projects in Australia, including Snowy Hydro 2.0, Sydney Metro’s North West Rail Link, Suburban Rail Loop, Morley Ellenbrook Line and the new Perth Stadium Transport Infrastructure. Along this journey he has specialized in digital design collaboration focusing on cross platform interoperability and conflict resolution through clash identification and risk mitigation.
Outside of Jacobs, Ario is a current sessional lecturer with the University of WA Master of BIM program. He has also taught at UNSW Faculty of Built Environment, Sydney from 2003 to 2005. This passion to contribute in academia is proof of his drive to advance and share his skills and knowledge in the Digital Engineering field.
Ario’s versatile background, from academic to design and consulting, to government agency, to construction delivery, makes him a unique technical professional who specializes in cross-disciplinary design collaboration in delivering large scale projects bringing teams together through BIM, digital engineering, and integrated project delivery (IPD). He takes pride in solving problems for the project teams and educating the team in advanced methods for digital engineering in design and construction management.
