Amelia has been working internationally in Project Management and Training for over 20 years.
She created her first business Attente Project Management in 2003 before commencing her MSc in Project Management / Construction Management at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. Having worked on a huge variety of projects in thirteen different countries, she emigrated to South Australia on a Construction Management visa in 2008. Her varied experience has given Amelia a unique perspective across project, commercial and contract management.
She has worked nationally in Australia as a Contracts Manager and on several award-winning construction and creative projects in Adelaide. Projects including The Conservatory on Hindmarsh Square for Lend Lease, the Adelaide Airport Landside Infrastructure Project for Watpac and most recently the Adelaide Festival Plaza Precinct Upgrade Project for Hansen Yuncken.
Amelia is an engaging and passionate trainer and facilitator who believes in an active learning approach to enable the development of individuals to become more effective, successful and happy at work. She created the first online Project Management course in Scotland to enable learning in remote locations and delivered the live course to over forty organisations throughout the country. She is currently working with the Construction Training Academy in Adelaide having created a unique project management training course for Landscape Supervisors.
Amelia was invited to be an industry member of the Start-Up Advisory Panel for the University of Adelaide’s new Bachelor of Construction Management program which launches in 2021. She is co-authoring the Construction Project Management (Fundamentals) module to be delivered in 2022.
